Terms & Conditions

The short version

Saamman is a classified marketplace available on saamman.com and in our mobile applications (including the Android app com.saamman.app). You post an ad, someone else sees it, and the two of you talk — by phone or through our chat. We provide the noticeboard. We do not inspect the item, hold the cash, or guarantee that the other person is honest.

By creating an account, signing in, posting content, or otherwise using Saamman, you agree to these Terms & Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and the Prohibited Items rules. If you do not agree, do not use Saamman.

Using Saamman

These terms apply to all Saamman services: the website, the Android application on Google Play, and any related features we provide — browsing listings, posting ads, favourites, profile, chat, notifications (including optional push alerts), newsletters, Contact Us, Air Support, and reporting tools. Some features need an account. Browsing ads does not.

The mobile app may ask for device permissions — for example photos for listing images, location to fill an ad’s area, and notifications so we can alert you about chat and account activity. Those permissions are optional. You can refuse them and still use Saamman; some features will simply not work until you allow them. How we handle that data is described in our Privacy Policy.

Before you create an account, post an ad, upload photos, or send chat messages, you must accept these terms (and our Privacy Policy). That acceptance cannot be skipped. Continuing with email registration or Google sign-in also constitutes acceptance where the product shows that notice.

You also agree to follow Pakistani law while you use Saamman, including the Pakistan Penal Code and the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016. If an ad or message would be illegal in Pakistan, it is not allowed here either.

Your account

If you register, you agree to:

• Give a real name, a working email, and a phone number that is yours
• Keep that information up to date
• Keep your password to yourself, and turn on two-factor authentication on the website if you can
• Tell us if you think someone else is in your account
• Not open extra accounts to dodge a ban, a limit, or a report

You are responsible for what happens on your account, including ads posted from it and messages sent from it. If you let a friend use it, their mistakes are still yours.

You may close your account from the mobile app under Settings → Delete account, from your website profile where available, or by emailing saamman.com@gmail.com. We may keep limited records where the law or fraud prevention requires it, as described in our Privacy Policy.

User-generated content

Saamman hosts user-generated content (“UGC”), including listing titles, descriptions, prices, photos, profile details, and chat messages. You are solely responsible for the UGC you create or upload.

Objectionable content and behaviour are prohibited. You must not create, upload, share, or promote content that:

• Is illegal under Pakistani law, or involves stolen, counterfeit, or fraudulently obtained goods
• Exploits, abuses, or endangers children, or contains sexual content involving minors
• Is pornographic, sexually explicit, or primarily intended to distribute adult sexual content
• Promotes hate, violence, terrorism, or discrimination against people or groups
• Harasses, threatens, bullies, or impersonates another person or Saamman staff
• Is spam, phishing, malware, or designed to steal logins, OTPs, or money
• Infringes someone else’s intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights
• Appears on our prohibited items list

You still own your photos and text. You grant Saamman a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content on our website, apps, search results, and related communications (such as “new listings” emails) so other people can find your ad. If you delete a listing or your account, we stop showing public content as described in our Privacy Policy, subject to backups and legal retention.

We moderate UGC in a manner appropriate to a classifieds marketplace. That includes automated filters where available, human review of reports, removing or hiding content, and suspending or closing accounts. We may edit, hide, or remove UGC that breaks these terms, looks like spam, or is reported — without a lengthy explanation in every case — but we aim to be fair.

You can report a listing from the ad screen in the app or via Report an Ad on the website. You can report or block another user from chat. We keep report details so we can act on repeat problems.

Posting an ad

When you post, you agree that:

• You have accepted these terms before creating or uploading the listing
• You have the right to sell or offer what you are listing
• The title, photos, price, and description match the real item
• Photos are of that item, not copied from another website without permission
• You picked the right category
• The item is not on the prohibited list
• You will not use abusive or prohibited language — we filter and remove it

Take the ad down once the item is sold. Do not leave sold or misleading listings active.

If you are selling

Sellers should:

• Be reachable on the phone number shown on the ad
• Describe faults honestly — a cracked screen is a cracked screen
• Meet in a public place, or allow the buyer to inspect before paying
• Hand over whatever papers go with the item (vehicle book, property documents, box and invoice for a phone) if you said they were included
• Take the ad down once the item is sold

You are responsible for tax and legal duties that apply to your own sales. Saamman does not collect income tax on your behalf.

If you are buying

Buyers should:

• Read the ad properly before you travel or send money
• Check the item in person — IMEI on a phone, papers on a car, the actual plot on a property
• Not pay a “token”, “booking fee”, or courier charge to someone you have never met
• Not share OTPs, internet banking passwords, or CNIC copies in chat
• Walk away if the story does not add up

Chat and behaviour

Do not:

• Harass, threaten, or abuse another user
• Send spam, fake offers, or links that steal logins
• Scrape Saamman with bots or try to break into accounts
• Collect other people’s phone numbers to spam them off the platform
• Pretend to be Saamman staff

One-to-one chat is private between the participants, except when a report is filed and our team reviews it. Use in-app (or website) tools to block a user and report them. Blocking stops further contact from that account in chat.

Money and fees

Posting a normal classified ad on Saamman is free. If we ever charge for a featured placement or another paid option, the price will be shown before you pay. Do not send money to a Saamman email or WhatsApp number that “staff” invented — we will not ask you to pay for an item through us.

Payment for the actual item is between buyer and seller. We do not currently process that payment on the site or in the app. JazzCash, Easypaisa, bank transfer, or cash on meeting are your choice and your risk. See the safety page before you send anything.

What Saamman is — and is not

We host ads and related marketplace tools. We are not the seller, not the buyer, and not an escrow service. We do not guarantee that:

• An item exists, is legal, or matches the photos
• A seller will show up or a buyer will pay
• A phone is PTA approved, a car has a clean book, or a property has a clear title
• The website or app will be up every minute of every day

The Saamman name, logo, and the design of the site and apps belong to us. Do not copy them. User ads belong to the people who posted them, as described above.

When we step in

We can hide an ad, remove content, limit features, or close an account if you:

• Break these terms, the Privacy Policy, or the prohibited items policy
• Post stolen, fake, illegal, or otherwise objectionable goods or content
• Scam, harass, or impersonate someone
• Are reported by other users and the report checks out
• Ask us to delete the account

If we close an account for abuse, you do not get to open a new one to continue the same behaviour. Serious cases may be shared with the police or the FIA where the law requires it.

If something goes wrong

Use Saamman as it is. We work to keep it useful and available, but we cannot promise it will never have a bug, a delay, or a dishonest user.

To the extent Pakistani law allows, Saamman is not liable for deals between users, for lost profit, or for damage that comes from relying on an ad. If we are found liable for something we actually control — for example a failure on our side — that liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which, for a free ad, may be nothing).

Nothing in these terms takes away rights that Pakistani law does not let you give up, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence.

If your use of Saamman causes a claim against us (for example you listed a stolen bike), you agree to cover the reasonable cost of that claim.

Disputes and Pakistani law

If you have a problem with another user, try to sort it with them first. If the ad itself is the problem, use Report an Ad or the in-app report option. If someone has committed a crime, go to the police. We can take the listing down; we cannot recover your money.

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. If a dispute with Saamman cannot be resolved by talking, the courts in Islamabad have jurisdiction. If one sentence in these terms is held invalid, the rest still applies.

Changes

We may update these terms when the product or legal requirements change. The date at the top will move. If you keep using Saamman after a change, the new terms apply. If a change is significant, we will try to make it obvious on the website and in the app.
